Tuition Assistance Program

Sooner The Safer is committed to providing access and ensuring that no one is denied an opportunity to participate in our swim lesson programs because of economic hardship. Scholarship applications are available year-round. Please note that all applications are reviewed carefully; however, there is no guarantee of approval. Applications will be reviewed in the order that they are submitted. It may take up to 2 weeks for you to hear from our office regarding the status of your family’s application. To inquire about the status of an application that you have submitted more than 2 weeks prior, please send an email to info@soonerthesafer.org with “Scholarship Status Inquiry” and the name of your family in the subject line.

Sooner The Safer feels that everyone should have access to swim lessons, regardless of their situation. Swimming is such a vital, lifesaving, and lifelong skill. We are proud to offer a limited number of tuition assistance awards to qualified families in need of financial support for tuition.

Application Procedures

• Note that tuition assistance is for tuition only and does not include any other costs such as apparel, equipment, registration insurance, etc., or any other fees.
• All tuition assistance is awarded for a defined period of time.
• When the tuition assistance period expires a family is welcome to reapply.
• If your family’s financial circumstances change during the tuition assistance period, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to immediately inform the Tuition Assistance Committee.
• We count on YOUR HONESTY to be able to offer tuition to other families in need.
• Tuition Assistance is determined upon by a committee comprised of: the Corporation’s Board of Directors, Company Officers, the Company’s Accounting Department.
• Please expect the decision process to take up to 14 days. This includes both initial and repeat applications. Tuition Assistance does NOT cover payables.
• Financial assistance awards range from 50% to 75% of the program cost based on income level.
• Applicants may only receive financial assistance for one program at a time; those with multiple children/dependents may have only one award per child/dependent for one program at a time.
• Financial Assistance is valid for the duration of the program for which it is applied. For example, Swim Lessons: One session.
• Applicants must reapply after each award is utilized.
• Financial Assistance does not guarantee enrollment in the desired program.
• Financial Assistance cannot be retroactively applied.

Application Process

1. Please Submit one online application per swimmer.
2. Email the required documentation to info@soonerthesafer.org
3. Apply up to 30 days before the program’s start date, but no later than 14 days before.
